Compass

When fighting with King Xiviu, king of the west, of ancient Viet, the King Hien Vien (infact—his name is  Hien vuong, also a king of Viet-- and not of Han--China), there have been using the magnetic compass. This is off the great scientific Viet in ancient time: the world first invented magnetic compass. Latter, the West has learned and applied to indicate direction. No compass you cannot travel. No compass no Maritime could advance through ocean and the face of the world would be different, and surely, the world history does not occur as existing.

The kim-chi-nam (compass) in Vietnamese name is needle -show- south.

In Chinese “Chi” means finger (noun) , direct ( verb) so the name of the compass would be: the finger south needle ,which is lack of logical meaning.

In Han language, the group of words “chi nam cham” 指南針 with an analogue, similar word, is: “chi nam xa “ (xa=transportation,nam=south, chi=finger)…....It is not really understand how to set this group of words, as,  if “chi”=finger is used as a noun,  chi nam cham= 'finger south magnet (needle)' means needle plant at southern finger .....? and if understand “chi” as verb, it must be ” Nam chi cham” –as Chinesse language structure always put adjective and verb before noun, so it should be “south point needle “.

In reverse, in Vietnamese language structure, the verb or adjective is put after the noun. The only explanation is this group of word compass is entirely Vietnamese language structure: the verb is followed by the noun: Kim chi nam  The Needle (kim) Direct (verb) (chi) to the south (nam).  Consequently, magnetic compass has been Vietnamese and not Chinesse invention.

Today scientific definition: a device able to indicate the direction of the magnetic north.

It is Bizarre that the original name is a device to show the south, and now, it shows the north.

Only the reason to explain reasonable -- in the past-- North-South has turned over—as Viet I Ching has shown.
