The eight Trigrams

The eight Trigrams (Bagua)

To date people do not really understand the eight Trigrams’ (Bat quai) meaning. Most of the eight Trigrams comprehension is in the sense of sacred model of I ching. The bagua means to show a cyclical process of growing and decay of things or phenomenon, related to its energy: yin and yang development or degrading. However, the cause and the arrangement of Bat quai horoscope I ching model-- the message that our precedents wanted to transfer, is very restricted and sometime very ambiguously understood. Common sense using is just for primitive purpose: such as using Bat quai (Bagua) to guest coming future or for hanging in front of the resident’s door to protect it from deadly intruding atmosphere etc…

But with the scientific vision: in three dimension space and in time, the fourth dimension: 8 horoscope trigram forms 4 axes of an unified cosmic time and space coordinate systems (see the attached image) and the explanation in previous articles in the I Ching section.

Pre-heaven, the Bat quai of yin yang structure

Bat quai with the 4 cordinate-dimension: Time – Space Bagua.
.
Mainly because of human being’s “seeing without understanding”, (possession of eyes but unable to see: Vietnamese proverb): to translate the eight Trigrams as demon thing, and definitely not because of the ancients poorly, stupidly invented the I ching and 8 trigrams..
The point is: the horoscope Bagua (8 trigrams), in general to have one thousand applications. Each area, each a case is used to organize the trigrams systems differently:  to locate the conditions of concerns. The only thing: after choosing the concerns (social, territorial, man’s mentality, etc... one type of Batquai should comply with a significant system throughout.

In this case we look at the  Bat quai (Bagua) Viet’s  Space-Time –applied for Viet context: the native land of I Ching/ Dich ly. Bat quai was based primarily on the information of the geographical and historical of Viet.
Two trigrams DOAI :|| and CAN |:: to be set up at the direction equator and North Pole now ( South pole -iching ) because:
In the past the Viet is named Giao Chi country: a meeting of Middle Place spot, Place of Middle which is the center of the thien ha (the whole land --coordinate lines that author of I Ching perceived)
1. The trigram Doai has a name Lake, because Lake in Viet’s language is Ho^, and it related to the location of the North Pole  ( iching) where the country named Ho exist. ( south Vietnam nowadays)
The trigrams Ca^’n means mountain, which named non. The synonym of “Non” with sound pronunciation as “Nam”, which means the south, (in the past, before the age of Chinese dependency (Bac thuoc), the direction was reversed: the North=Bac in Vietnamese: The bac (north) synonyms to “Buc” (phonetic variant): means hot. Hot is representation of equator --hot oriented direction. It is interesting that in the ancient Cambodian (khome) language, the mountain is called BNâM/ homonymous with Nam. Like that when say direction Ca^’n, means Bnam=“nom”, or “Nam”, means south direction (is orientated to the current day: north). Is it random coincidence? Or it has a root relation?
- The trigram “Chan” or the East is related to the location with the name Dong Dinh Ho in Viet (Chinese) and the Myth of Viet Ancient History, the name Dong Dinh Ho, in reality must be the East Sea, and not a place in Southern China as commonly understood nowadays.

-The trigram “Ton”, symbols for Wind: Phong in Vietnamese. The word Phong indeed is the Phong Chau: the capital of Chu dynasty, the provincial Phong –name of native land of Luu Bang also the Phong in Phong Chau in Vietnamese current land. At the Chinese dependency time (Bac Thuoc): Phong Chau is a land in the West of the Viet under “Duong” time.

In this sense, the Phong trigram which called Ton, has only one meaning: the WEST. It is the West of Giao Chi---name of the country Viet in the beginning, which means the Land of Middle, or Middle Land.

The Bat Quai of Viet Space-Time Nation, in short, applied for Viet land --was based on the geographical and historical of Viet Nation
In this case we look at the Bat quai with the trigram Doai and Can at the north south direction. (Different from the Tien thien and Hau thien bat quai)
