According to "Cổ Việt Hùng thị Thập bát Diệp Thánh Tông Ngọc Phả cổ truyền", owing to academe institute composed in 1472, dynastic title HongDuc 3rd, the King Lê Thánh Tôn orders to Dr Nguyen Nhu Do to research the old-standing Vietnamese country territory. The document "Hùng Vương bát cảnh" collects the research of Dr Do writes the border of our old Viet country “VAN LANG”, enclosing the following areas and borders
 
1. The  GÒ NGỰA (Mã Kỳ), about 2.000 miles (Dam-Viet unit) wide, is the ancient area, named châu Ðiền now belongs to Yunnan province, China
 
2. Area CỎ TRÂU (Ngưu Lan), about 1.500 miles wide, is the former land Việt Tây, now belongs to province Quảng Tây (Quanxi), China

3. Area RỪNG QUẠ (Ô Lâm), formerly was state Kiềm, nowadays belongs to Phúc Kiến, Quí châu provinces, near Ðộng Ðình lake, China

4. The area AO CÁ (Ngư Trì) has a territory of 1700 miles, named Viet Dong, now is the province Quảng Ðông China

5. The ÐỘNG HOA Old Phu Nam, about 1000 miles the LêThánh Ton is the Cambodia country. Kingdom exists until the VI century. Boundary of   Phù Nam spreads almost across continents Southeast Asia including the South Central Vietnam, South Vietnam to the west including the river valley Mê Nam Thailand. Northern Region spread until the middle Mekong River, which is nowadays Lao territory now spread down South to take the peninsula Malaysia, which is Malaysia now.

6. The area QUA O (Quả Sơn), 1.000 miles which is Ho ton (Lâm Ap in the ancient time called Chămpa ) later called Chiêm Thành.

7. Domain BẦY VOI (Tượng Tào) 1.000 miles wide which is in Ai Lao now.

8. Domain LŨ HƯƠU (Lộc Hữu)  1.000 miles wide lies in the south of current Cao Miên (Cambodia) nowadays
 
Before that, in ancient time, the boundary of Bach Viet was spread up to the Ho Bac and Southern Ha Nam province of current China. The divine line between two stars Ngưu Nữ was taken to be a boundary line between Ancient Hoa-Viet and Han Chinese.
